Functionality allows user to migrate data from DSSV7 NAS shares to the Open-E JovianDSS.

Below the list of steps that need to be done in order to migrate data:

On Open-E JovianDSS:

  1. Create zpool
  2. Create dataset
  3. Enable Data Migration Tool in Extended tools under console (CTRL+ALT+X)

On DSSV7:

  1. Create Data Replication Task (DREP) using IP of JovianDSS as a destination IP and selecting source and destination shares from where to where data need to be migrated.
  2. Start the task and wait till task completes.

Important notes:

  1. While Data Migration Tool is turned on data sharing protocols on JovianDSS will be disabled.
  2. Any changes made to shares configuration on JovianDSS, while Data Migration Tool is running, will be reflected by the tool after restarting it.
  3. After completing migration process it is Administrator role to turn off the Data Migration Tool.
  4. After rebooting the system Data Migration Tool becomes automatically turned off.
